What do you charge for website development? Who does all the updates, etc?
This depends on what is needed. First, there is hosting. A site needs to be hosted on a web server.

Yes, we've finally become mainstream. You can call Web Developers / Designers "General Contractors." Just like Landscapers, Plumbers, Carpenters, Electricians. It seems we are free to not return calls, and be content with shoddy over-charged work. We can now charge for follow-ups, even if the follow-up was due to a mistake on our part. Wait, not a mistake.... it's called a 'rejected feature' so we can charge to replace the mistake, I mean feature, with the fix, oops, I mean feature that the client originally wanted.

I started a site to test the viability of a website of articles, with Google Ads on it. The site was actually pre-made for me. Someone had wrote a bunch of articles and put it together in a simple package to make it easy to manage. The site is about different addictions, at AddictionGuides.com.

Parking Domains
Have you thought of different names for your website, but are not sure which one to use? Or, maybe you started with one, and then found a simpler one?
Or, you started a new product line, and want to use the name of the product to get to your website. You don't need a NEW or different website. You can simply Park the new domain on top of your current site.
An example might be a large company name needing to be shortened, like IndustralFabricsInc.com. They parked Ind-Fab.com on top of it. This allows them to use a shorter address for their emails, yet still retain their true company name as a Web Address. |
