You want to share your photos, don't you? Share those 50 new pictures of your little bundle of joy from today? Please.... Don't email them! "Oh, but it's so easy to attached them, and I've been doing it for years." Yeah, well, that doesn't make it right, or efficient. When sending pictures to others, there are a couple of preferred methods.

Changing Addresses is never easy. Same for email addresses. The basic steps are the same. Notify everyone, and if you can, setup a temporary forward for those 'a little slow' to update their records.

Start unsubscribing. Please. Listen up people, some of you have probably heard the advice of "Don't unsubscribe, because that only verifies your email address." That's so 1999. How about following advice from 2007. If you don't want to be on a mailing list, unsubscribe.

Maybe it's AOL. Maybe it's the users who gravitate towards AOL. Maybe it's a combo of the two, with AOL giving it's users tools that are too easy to use, and the users misusing them. All I know is that I am seeing a lot of messages being reported by 'AOL' as spam. Legitimate emails. Emails that the AOL recipient was actually expecting. Yet, somehow it gets reported as spam. Why? What's going on?

What do you charge for website development? Who does all the updates, etc?
This depends on what is needed. First, there is hosting. A site needs to be hosted on a web server.

Yes, we've finally become mainstream. You can call Web Developers / Designers "General Contractors." Just like Landscapers, Plumbers, Carpenters, Electricians. It seems we are free to not return calls, and be content with shoddy over-charged work. We can now charge for follow-ups, even if the follow-up was due to a mistake on our part. Wait, not a mistake.... it's called a 'rejected feature' so we can charge to replace the mistake, I mean feature, with the fix, oops, I mean feature that the client originally wanted.

Parking Domains
Have you thought of different names for your website, but are not sure which one to use? Or, maybe you started with one, and then found a simpler one?
Or, you started a new product line, and want to use the name of the product to get to your website. You don't need a NEW or different website. You can simply Park the new domain on top of your current site.
An example might be a large company name needing to be shortened, like IndustralFabricsInc.com. They parked Ind-Fab.com on top of it. This allows them to use a shorter address for their emails, yet still retain their true company name as a Web Address. |
