A lot of people are looking to save money and manage the content on their websites themselves. This is great, but it is not as easy for everyone. What is helpful is to have a few books to read up on the subject and use as a reference.
There are many books available at Amazon.com. But so many to choose from, and for different versions (Joomla 1.5 or 2.5?)
And there are some great online Tutorials available:
I would suggest skipping the Joomla 1.5 books and go straight to 2.5. Joomla 1.5 is at the end-of-life status. Joomla 2.5 is easier to work with, and finally easier to update and maintain. So, when looking at books, make sure it is for 2.5 (it might say 1.6/1.7 due to strange name usage... but basically the same. Just NOT 1.5 or lower)
